Support
We answer email.
Wakanai is built by one developer and an eager AI, so support is simple: write to hello@wakanai.app and you'll get a reply from the person who wrote the code — usually within a day or two.
Requirements
- iPhone (or iPad) on iOS 26 or newer. The on-device speech engine Wakanai depends on ships with iOS 26 — older versions can't run the app.
- Nothing else. No account, no subscription during beta, no Mac, no setup.
Installing the beta
- Join the waitlist on the home page. Invites go out in waves, oldest signups first.
- Your invite email contains a TestFlight link — install Apple's TestFlight app first if you don't have it, then open the link on your iPhone.
- Beta builds expire after 90 days; TestFlight will prompt you to update when a new build is up.
Reporting a bug
Email us, or use TestFlight's built-in feedback (screenshot → share → TestFlight). The most useful reports include:
- What you did, what you expected, what happened instead.
- The episode you were on and which pass (pictures / subtitles / word test).
- If speech grading misjudged you: the word shown and what you said. A screenshot of the card helps enormously.
- iPhone model and iOS version (Settings → General → About).
Your data
The app stores nothing about you off-device, so there's nothing to request from us there. To be removed from the waitlist or have your signup deleted, email hello@wakanai.app — details in the privacy policy.
Common questions
The home page FAQ covers the big ones: total beginners, why iOS 26, whether your voice is uploaded (it isn't), and what happens after you join the list.
